One of Hallowe’en’s highlights is pumpkin carving, turning the squash into a Jack O’Lantern. One year, we must have carved two dozen, but there were heaps of carvers. This year, only one lonely guy, happy and a bit maniacal looking. We left him right at the yew bush gap at the top of the walk in the hopes he’d attract at least some passing interest. Not sure he made a difference on the busy frontage we have, but he was nice to come home to.
